Brand Your Surf Feed with Theme Editor
Creators are defined by the content they deliver, but there are many ways they build their brand. How content is expressed, designed and packaged adds to the audience experience, building loyalty and recognition. Now creators can extend their brand to Surf feeds with the new Theme Editor, an advanced tool for customizing a feed’s look and feel. And for people visiting feeds, this level of branding makes it clear that they are in a destination owned and operated by the creator they love.
We’ve been testing branded Surf feeds with pioneering organizations and individuals like WIRED, Taylor Lorenz and Vergecast. Recently we’ve had others ask to customize their feeds as well. This is why we’re so excited to go live with the new Theme Editor. Instead of a one-size-fits-all presentation, feeds can now be tailored to match the colors, imagery, and visual style that audiences already associate with a creator’s work.
Theme Editor is especially useful for those that want to use Surf feeds as a destination for their community. If a creator has published a Surf feed to the web and wants to link to it from their website, podcast or newsletter, having the feed match their other audience touchpoints is incredibly powerful. Now, going from a branded website to a corresponding social feed can feel like an integrated experience.
Feed builders can get started with Theme Editor by selecting the “Customize” tab in their feed header. They can choose their level of branding, from lightweight, such as simply adding a logo, to more advanced features, selecting feed and navigation colors and layout preferences. With all of the new styling options, Surf feeds can immediately connect a creator’s audience with their brand.

As creators build communities across multiple platforms, Surf continues to make it easier to bring everything together in one place. Theme Editor is the latest step in giving creators greater control over how their content is presented and how communities experience it. The result is a feed that feels fresh and unique, a true extension of creators’ own website and brand.
Theme Editor is available on both web and mobile, giving creators the flexibility to customize and manage their feeds wherever they use Surf.
